I have been trying to figure out what to write a blog post about first since I’ve been missing for awhile, but I just can’t decide so I’ll just do a catch up post with a few photos!
First of all the most exciting thing around here is that Svara is going to be a big sister! I am due near the end of Sept. with another baby girl! So I am 22 weeks along now, here is a photo of me a couple weeks ago:
Svara is thrilled that she is going to have a baby sister! I meant to announce it here awhile ago, but I didn’t feel like announcing during the first trimester because I had a previous miscarriage. Then when I felt like it was okay to announce I was too busy catching up with all the other things I neglected when I was totally exhausted during the first trimester!
So yeah, that has rearranged our entire schedule over the past 5 months and is the reason I’ve been so behind in the blog. But we have done a few things, here are a few highlights:
Here is Svara all dressed up in an Indian outfit. We went to an open house of a Tamil school that Naren did a lot of help for. It was the grand opening of their new school building.
Svara continues to exercise her creativity in all ways! Here she took a shawl of mine and a bunch of little hairclips and created a dress for herself!
Naren has been starting to give Svara badminton lessons!
She loves it as you can see 🙂
And last but not least, Svara turned five last month!! We just celebrated it with the three of us this year. Svara’s wish was to go swimming, so we took her to a water park all morning on her birthday, then out to lunch at her current favorite restaurant. Then it was back home for a nice lazy afternoon movie and birthday cake! And yes, those are tea light candles she is blowing out. I realized at the last moment that we had left our birthday candles at a relative’s house. oops!
It’s hard to believe Svara is five years old already!
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before, but we’ll be homeschooling her at least for a year. We’ll see what happens for first grade, but at least for kindergarten she’ll be homeschooled. We don’t have a strict schedule yet, but within the next month or so I want to have more of a schedule. Then when the baby comes we’ll probably take a break for a month or so before getting back into the schedule. So far she can do basic math and even knows some facts from memory. She knows her letter sounds and can sound out basic words. I don’t have a curriculum yet, really, but am planning on purchasing a basic one in the next week or so to give me some more materials and a sequence to follow so I don’t have to think of everything from scratch.
I haven’t been doing as much cooking and baking as usual. I hardly did any during my first trimester as I was just completely exhausted. Now I am still tired often, but not in a debilitating way like before! So I’ve started to do more baking and cooking again. Maybe I’ll have some photos to share soon!
Well, that’s a catch up of the past few months here. Now I need to start taking more photos and there are several subjects that I want to blog about!
